PreparingAssessment before weight loss surgeryBefore you can have weight loss surgery, your GP will refer you to a team of specialists. They will assess your: - physical health - using blood and urine tests, X-rays and scans to check for things like blood clots, ulcers and hernias
- mental wellbeing - including your ability to cope with the long-term lifestyle changes needed after weight loss surgery, including attending follow-up appointments and taking supplements
- eating patterns and diet - including how you've already tried to lose weight
These checks will help decide whether you're suitable for weight loss surgery and which type of surgery would be recommended. |
OutUK's A to Z of Gay Health continues and you can read this week's feature P: Personality Disorders. We have covered many subjects in this series and you can catch up with all of our Previous A to Z Features. If you want to find out more about this particular topic you can visit the Original article on the NHS website. If you are worried by any aspect of your health make sure you go and see your doctor or book an appointment at your local clinic. | |
